METERING AND MIXING SYSTEMS
PGM 400
Process Gear Mix 400 systems for
the metering, mixing and
application of high viscous materials
directly from supplied containers.
Designed for materials that are too thick to gravity-feed, the PGM 400 uses flat follower plates and pneumatic ram presses to push viscous adhesives, sealants, and resins directly from 20 litre pails or 205 litre drums into precision gear pumps - eliminating the need to decant and the risk of air entrapment.

Processing Compatibility
- Wide mix ratio materials (1:1 through to 10:1).
- High viscosity products (over 50,000+ mPas).
- Single and multi-component materials.
- Viscous A component with liquid B component (e.g. RTV or toughened epoxies).
This flexibility allows the PGM 400 to support production requirements across multiple industries, from wind turbine blade bonding and sub-sea potting to structural glass sealing and automotive RIM moulding.
KEY INFORMATION
Adjustable Mix Ratios
Mix ratio format adjustable for 1:1 or 10:1 ratio materials, mechanical changes required to switch between ratio formats.
High Output
Flow rates of up to 20 litres per minute, with each machine spec'd to suit the customer's specific requirements.
Direct Drum Processing
System can be adapted for 1:1 or 10:1 MMA adhesives, processing both components directly from supplied drums.
Clean Material Feed
Follower plates with circumferential O-ring seal prevent material leakage and air ingress, wiping container walls as material is dispensed to minimise waste.
PC Upgrade Options
Options for full PC-controlled upgrade with 10-inch HMI touch screen monitor and ratio control via gear, spindle, or mass flowmeters.
SUPPLIER COMPATIBILITY
2KM systems are designed to work with materials from a wide range of manufacturers, giving customers flexibility rather than locking them into a single supplier ecosystem.
The PGM 400 is compatible with products from leading global material manufacturers, meaning customers can continue working with their preferred suppliers while benefiting from 2KM equipment performance and reliability.
Rather than being tied to one brand, customers can confidently use approved materials from multiple manufacturers across their operation.
This supplier-independent approach supports:
- Easier integration into existing production lines.
- Reduced material supply risk through multi-source capability.
- Improved cost control through competitive supplier pricing.
- Compatibility with established formulations already validated in production.

HOW THE PGM 400 WORKS
The PGM 400 is built around volumetric displacement gear pumps, each directly coupled to its own inverter-controlled, geared AC motor. This individual drive design is what gives the system its flexibility - because each pump is independently controlled, the machine handles widely different mix ratios and viscosities without mechanical changes.
For high viscous materials, the metering pumps sit directly on follower plates inside straight-sided, open top drums for both 20 and 205 litre containers. These follower plates are pushed onto the material surface using a twin-post pneumatic ram press, creating positive material feed into the pumps. The circumferential O-ring seal prevents both material leakage and air ingress, while simultaneously wiping the container walls as material is dispensed to reduce waste.
When the material runs low, limit switches detect the level and alert the operator. The ram presses reverse and air is injected under the plate for drum changes - a process designed to be quick and clean with minimal production downtime.
From the metering pumps, material is transferred to the mixing point via PTFE-lined hoses, with options for different lengths to suit the application. Mixing is carried out through disposable static mixers mounted on a handheld application gun, with options for large-bore bespoke mixing elements in high-pressure steel housings for higher-flow applications. The mixing head can also be fitted to robotic arms or X-Y tables for automated production.
