METERING AND MIXING SYSTEMS

PGM 200

PGM 200 systems for the metering, mixing and dispensing of low to high viscosity materials from pressure-fed vessels.

The PGM 200 is a mid-volume, two-component metering, mixing and dispensing system built around pressure-fed vessels from 4 to 200 litres. It sits between the bench-mounted PGM 100 range and the heavy-duty, drum-fed PGM 400 - built for production environments that need consistent flow from higher viscosity materials.

Pressurising the feed vessel keeps material moving consistently into the metering pumps regardless of viscosity, which matters for filled, thixotropic or foam-forming compounds that won't reliably gravity-feed. The PGM 200 processes silicones, epoxies and polyurethanes from free-flowing liquids up to 50,000 mPas, at flow rates up to 20 litres per minute and mix ratios from 1:1 through to 10:1.

Optional heating, agitation and recirculation keep filled or temperature-sensitive materials in suspension and in optimum condition.

SUPPLIER COMPATIBILITY

2KM systems are designed to work with materials from a wide range of manufacturers, giving customers flexibility rather than locking them into a single supplier ecosystem.

The PGM 200 is compatible with silicone, epoxy and polyurethane products from leading global material manufacturers, meaning customers can continue working with their preferred suppliers while benefiting from 2KM equipment performance and reliability.

This supplier-independent approach supports:

  • Easier integration into existing production lines.
  • Reduced material supply risk through multi-source capability.
  • Improved cost control through competitive supplier pricing.
  • Compatibility with established formulations already validated in production.

Optional Extras Agitation, heating, recirculation, low-level alarm, on-board de-gassing, auto-refilling from drums or IBC.

HOW THE PGM 200 WORKS

The PGM 200 meters and mixes two-component materials from sealed pressure vessels rather than gravity-fed hoppers or drums. Pressurising each vessel forces material through to the metering pumps at a constant rate, regardless of viscosity - a more reliable feed than gravity alone for filled, thixotropic or higher-viscosity compounds.

Each metering pump has its own independent drive: an inverter-controlled geared AC motor electronically linked to its counterpart, so ratio and flow rate can be adjusted without any mechanical changes. An "invert" switch reassigns which motor leads ("king") the pairing, giving operators the flexibility to process a wide range of ratios and viscosities on the same machine.

Where materials need to be free of trapped air before dispensing, on-board de-gassing can be specified to pull air out of the material prior to metering - important for optically clear castings, void-free potting compounds, and structural bonding applications where trapped air would compromise the finished part. For continuous production, the system can be configured with auto-refilling from bulk drums or IBCs, minimising manual vessel changes and production downtime.

INDUSTRIES USING THE PGM 200

The PGM 200 is one of 2KM's most widely specified platforms, appearing as the primary or a supporting machine across many of 2KM's documented industries - particularly where mid to high range viscosity material need reliable processing.

Sub-Sea & Marine - buoyancy aid production, subsea signage, pipeline insulation and in-place pipe repair kits using polyurethane. Specialist pump options protect syntactic (glass-sphere-filled) materials from damage during metering.

Medical - production of soft, lifelike silicone prosthetics and coating of medical fabrics for wound care and dressings.

Model Making - casting of models and figurines, silicone mould making, and production of props and set pieces for film and theatre.

Automotive - reaction injection moulding (RIM) for low-volume replacement parts, plus bonding and seals-and-bushes production.

Aerospace - structural bonding, pultrusion and resin transfer moulding (RTM) using epoxy and polyurethane systems.

Air Filtration - bonding and setting the filter matrix within metal filter frames, requiring constant, pulse-free extrusion for an airtight seal.

Wind Energy & Renewables - supporting bonding and potting processes alongside the PGM 400 and PGM 420 for turbine blade assembly and component encapsulation.
