METERING AND MIXING SYSTEMS

PGM 100 Compact

PGM 100 Compact systems for the metering, mixing and application of low-viscosity materials, formatted for short-run production, trials and material evaluation.

The PGM 100 Compact has been designed for material manufacturers wanting to demonstrate materials without disturbing production equipment, or for a user who needs a nimble, easy-to-use system that fills the gaps in general casting work. Built around a twin-drive setup, each precision gear pump is directly driven by its own inverter-controlled, geared AC motor.

The system handles mix ratios from 1:1 through to 10:1, with flow rates of up to 4 litres per minute depending on viscosity. An 'invert' switch lets operators change which motor leads the pairing, giving the flexibility to process a wide range of ratios - or pump just one component out on its own when materials need changing.

MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY

The PGM 100 Compact processes low-viscosity, two-component materials from small gravity-fed vessels, offering a portable, easy-to-use platform for trial runs, demonstrations and contingency production.

Compatible Materials

Processing Capabilities

  • Mix ratios from 1:1 through to 10:1.
  • Viscosities up to 5,000 mPas.
  • Gravity-fed from 12 litre vessels per component.
  • Positive-displacement, pulsation-free metering.

This makes the PGM 100 Compact well suited to short-run production, material evaluation, and as contingency backup should a main production unit need redundancy support.

KEY
INFORMATION

Compact, portable footprint (600 x 600 x 600mm) - ideal for transport and manoeuvring around the application area.

Flow rates of up to 4 litres per minute, dependent on material viscosity.

Independent drive for each metering pump, with an 'invert' switch to change which motor leads the pairing.

Air-operated mixer head with trigger start and disposable static mixer tubes to minimise waste.

Entry-level potentiometer control for ratio and flow adjustment - no PC-based control system required.

SUPPLIER COMPATIBILITY

2KM systems are designed to work with materials from a wide range of manufacturers, giving customers flexibility rather than locking them into a single supplier ecosystem.

The PGM 100 Compact is compatible with polyurethane, epoxy and silicone products from leading global material manufacturers, meaning customers can continue working with their preferred suppliers while benefiting from 2KM equipment performance and reliability.

This supplier-independent approach supports:

  • Easier integration into existing production lines.
  • Reduced material supply risk through multi-source capability.
  • Improved cost control through competitive supplier pricing.
  • Compatibility with established formulations already validated in production.

How the PGM 100 Compact Works

The PGM 100 Compact is built around two precision gear pumps, each directly coupled to its own inverter-controlled, geared AC motor. This individual drive design - the same principle used across the whole PGM range - means ratio and flow can be adjusted electronically rather than through mechanical changes.

Material is drawn by gravity feed from 12 litre vessels per component into the metering pumps, giving constant, pulsation-free flow. An 'invert' switch lets the operator change which motor leads the pairing, and the same mechanism allows a single component to be pumped out on its own when materials need changing.

From the metering pumps, material passes through PTFE-lined hoses to an air-operated mixer head, fitted with a trigger switch for machine start. Disposable static mixer tubes minimise material waste, and the head can be upgraded to a rotary static mixer for more robust blending where required.

Pressure manometers and non-return valves at the pump outlet and gun inlet give the operator fault-finding and application information as the system runs.

Applications

The PGM 100 Compact is used across a range of low-volume and trial production processes where portability and ease of use matter as much as metering accuracy.

Industries Using the PGM 100 Compact

The PGM 100 Compact's portability and low running cost make it a popular choice for material evaluation, trials and short-run production across many industries - including Model Making, where it's specified for casting figurines, props and set pieces.

Choosing the Right PGM Machine

Feed method Gravity-fed | Pressurised vessel | Direct from pail/drum via follower plates.
Viscosity Up to 5,000 mPas | Up to 50,000 mPas | 50,000+ mPas.
Typical vessel size 12–24 litres | 4–200 litres | 20L pails / 205L drums.
Best suited to Low-viscosity, low-volume work | Mid-volume production, wider viscosity range | High-viscosity, high-volume, no decanting.

PGM 100 Compact - FAQs

What is the PGM 100 Compact used for?

The PGM 100 Compact is 2KM's entry-level, gravity-fed metering system for low-viscosity materials up to 5,000 mPas. It's ideal for short-run production, material evaluation and demonstrations, or as contingency backup should a main production unit need redundancy support. Typical applications include casting, potting, encapsulation, sealing and bonding, RIM moulding and model making.

What materials or machines does the PGM 100 Compact work with?

It processes polyurethane, epoxy and silicone materials up to 5,000 mPas, and sits within the wider PGM 100 range alongside the PGM 100 Standard and PGM 100 Spray.

What is the maximum viscosity this machine will process?

The PGM 100 Compact processes materials up to around 5,000 mPas . More viscous materials can sometimes be metered if the required flow rate is correspondingly lower.

Which industries rely on the PGM 100 Compact?

The PGM 100 Compact is widely used for material evaluation, trials and short-run production across many of 2KM's industries, including Model Making for casting figurines and props.

Does 2KM offer access to demonstration units to help validate a new material or process?

Yes - 2KM has a full test facility for process evaluation and proof of concept before purchase, plus lease and hire options for longer-term on-site testing before you commit.
